Mohammed Shami claimed a five-wicket haul against Sri Lanka to register a massive record for India in ODI World Cups.

Mohammed Shami continued his dream run in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 picking up a five-wicket haul to become the leading India wicket-taker in the tournament history.

Shami produced an incredible bowling spell against Sri Lanka batters who looked clueless against them in a mammoth chase of 358. It was another dismal batting performance from Lanka as they were bundled out for just 55 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Meanwhile, it was Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj who started the party with the new ball for the home fans at Wankhede by dismantling Lanka’s top order early. Shami joined the party soon and created havoc with his bowling and went on to take his second fifer of this year’s edition.
