Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones' India Itinerary Includes Bollywood Bash

Celebrated actor Michael Douglas is all set to tour India this month with Catherine Zeta-Jones and son Dylan. The celebrity pair will fly down to attend the Indian Film Festival of India (IFFI), which is to take place in Goa. Michael accepted an invitation to IFFI this year and will also be honoured at the event. Michael and his family are being hosted by producer Shailendra Singh, who is reportedly a close friend of the actor. The actor and his family will reportedly meet various people from the film industry.

Shailendra Singh told ETimes, “The emails we received regarding the things he was supposed to do were exhaustive. So, we had to cut down many things. He will arrive a day prior to his engagements. We are having a fun-filled 24 hours in Goa before his work begins on November 27. We are hosting an intimate dinner for him that night.”

The portal mentioned that Shailendra Singh will hold a party to commemorate his 25 years in the film industry, which Michael and numerous Bollywood celebrities will attend. Michael also had a number of other engagements during his time in India. Pramod Sawant, Goa’s chief minister, and Anurag Thakur, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, will host a dinner for the American star. According to the report, the international celebrities will spend a week in India. Reportedly, they will be visiting other regions of the country and intend to meet actors from the South Indian film industry.

At the International Film Festival of India in Panjim, Goa, Michael Douglas will be honoured with the prestigious Satyajit Ray Excellence in Film Lifetime Award. Anurag Thakur, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, formally announced the news on social media. He wrote, “I’m delighted to announce that Michael Douglas, the distinguished Hollywood Actor and Producer, will be honoured with the prestigious Satyajit Ray Excellence in Film Lifetime Award at the 54th International Film Festival Goa. His deep love for our country is well known, and we look forward to welcoming him, Catherine Zeta Jones and their son, to the most prominent Film Festival in South Asia to showcase our rich cinematic culture and unique traditions at #IFFI54!! A heartfelt welcome to Bharat and IFFIGoa.”

IFFI will take place from November 20 to November 28 this year.
