Ayushmann Khurrana Wins TIME 100 Impact Award 2023, Recites Verse From Bhagavad Gita In Singapore; Watch
Ayushmann Khurrana attended the awards ceremony for TIME 100 Impact awards in Singapore recently and shared his acceptance speech on Instagram.

After delivering his highest opening ever with the much-awaited sequel film Dream Girl 2, actor Ayushmann Khurrana has another special reason to celebrate. He recently received the TIME 100 Impact award in a ceremony held in Singapore this year. He took to his Instagram to share glimpses of the event. One of the videos featured the actor reciting a verse from the Bhagavad Gita during his acceptance speech.

The actor captioned the post as, “Thank you @time for validating my purpose as a human being and an artiste! Deeply humbled to represent India on this global stage. ????????❤️????#Time100ImpactAwards.” See the post here:

Ayushmann said in the video, “Good evening, everyone. I would like to say a verse from our reverent Indian scripture, The Bhagavad Gita. It’s in Sanskrit. It goes like this… Karmanye vadhikaraste, Ma Phaleshu Kadachana, Ma Karmaphalahetur bhurma, Te Sango Stvakarmani. This verse encapsulates the essence of selfless action. It emphasises being process-oriented rather than result-oriented. It makes you fall in love with the process and not the outcome. Probably gives you the lesson on detachment from the fruits of your labour.”

He continued, “Neither did I think nor did I aspire to be here at this global platform representing my nation. I was just doing my job as an artist. Earnestly choosing stories which were real, eclectic, relatable. Stories which could just trigger a social change in our society… It is a humbling moment for me to be recognised as an artist by the prestigious TIME Magazine! I’m here to represent India’s moment under the Sun and I’m proud of the fact that India is becoming a fulcrum of progressive storytelling through cinema.”

Ayushmann’s childhood sweetheart and wife Tahira Kashyap commented, “So proud,” with a heart emoji. His friends from Bollywood also took to the comments section to show their support. Huma Qureshi wrote, “So cool Ayush-Man! Congratulations.” Neeti Mohan joked, “Ab aapke paas TIME nahi rahega.” Guneet Monga wrote, “Sooo proud!!! And the best speech.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ayushmann’s Dream Girl 2, also featuring Ananya Panday in the lead, recently entered the Rs. 100 crore club.
