Aamir Khan Charged Rs 25 Lakh For An Ad That SRK Agreed To Do For Rs 6 Lakh To Buy Mannat? Find Here

Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan are among the biggest and most influential actors in Bollywood today. Their superstardom is not only limited to doing movies but also hosting shows on television and appearing and endorsing multiple brands. Speaking of advertisements, ad whizz Prahlad Kakkar spoke about the two superstars in a recent interview.

He revealed that although Aamir and Shah Rukh were being considered for the same ad, Aamir demanded a much higher fee. Speaking to Zoom, Prahlad said, “I was suggested Aamir Khan’s name as he was popular because of QSQT that time. However, he didn’t lower his price that time and asked us to pay him Rs. 25 lakh. While Shah Rukh had agreed to do the ad for Rs. 6 lakhs as he wanted to buy a home and was short of that amount.”

“Shah Rukh, however, still looked like a wannabe main lead. Whereas Aamir looked like a fresh face and not an actor. Aamir wasn’t keen to do an ad because in the industry at that time, ad was a bad name. It meant that you are not that well in the industry and hence, doing ads to make some money. I did tell Aamir that this ad will make you bigger as an actor but he didn’t buy it saying only a feature film can make him big, not such ads,” he added.

Prahlad continued, “While Aamir agreed later, he demanded Rs. 25 lakh and Shah Rukh asked Rs. 6 lakh as he had no ulterior motive but to buy a house for himself in Mumbai. We agreed on getting Aamir Khan on board though, and we shot another ad with Shah Rukh instead.”

Prahlad said that he then went on to cast Mahima Chaudhary and Aishwarya Rai for the ad. He said that people were so amazed by Aishwarya that he got nearly “1000 phone calls” asking him about the actress.
