Going all creative with its fresh take on Angry Young Men, Amul India has done it again. Known for its interesting topical ads featuring the Amul girl, the beloved dairy brand is riding high, celebrating Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar’s latest documentary series. Paying tribute to the show, Amul India shared a cute doodle, taking inspiration from the iconic film Sholay. Along with the poster, an interesting tagline made it even more engaging, “Yeh toast tea hum nahi chhodenge! Hungry Young Men,” referring to the popular Sholay song.
Impressed by the gesture, Zoya Akhtar, one of the producers of the series, reshared the doodle on her Instagram handle. She added a white heart emoji with the hashtags #salimjaved and #angryyoungmen. Many took to the comment section and dropped words of praise for the doodle. A user wrote, “Love the way they capture the original picture,” while another added, “Amul always surprises me.”
“This is epic! Utterly butterly delicious. So is the series! Congratulations Zo and team – Angry Young Men!” another comment read. Actors like Siddhant Chaturvedi and Darshan Kumaar also reacted to the post.
Prior to this, Farhan Akhtar also shared the Amul ad on his Instagram story and expressed his delight. “Love it,” he wrote. Actress Shabana Azmi shared the same and congratulated the team.
In the original post, Amul India wrote, “#Amul Topical: Docu-series about Salim-Javed and their famed success as a screenwriter duo!” The picture shows two men sitting on a bike and enjoying bread and butter, resembling Jai and Veeru from Salim-Javed’s classic film. Social media users showered immense love over the post, also showing their support for the series.
