When Shahid Kapoor Re-Recorded His First Interview Post Ishq Vishk Release Due To Dislike For His Voice
Veteran journalist Rajeev Masand recalled in a recent interview that Shahid Kapoor Re-recorded his first interview because he didn't like his voice.

Shahid Kapoor has made remarkable strides since his debut in Ken Ghosh’s 2003 romantic comedy, ‘Ishq Vishk.’ In a recent podcast on the YouTube channel Shaardulogy, former journalist Rajeev Masand shared an intriguing tidbit: Shahid requested a re-recording of his very first interview for a rather fascinating reason.

Rajeev Masand recalled, “I remember when I interviewed Shahid Kapoor for the first time. We did a whole interview, for 30-35 minutes. I think it was one of Shahid’s first interviews, at the time of Ishq Vishk. After the interview, he asked if he can watch it. He sat and watched it and said he doesn’t like the way he was sounding. And we did it all over again.”

He continued, “But there was a pursuit of excellence, some perfection. You know, when someone is trying something new, when someone is saying, ‘Let’s not do this, let’s do this.’ We did an interview with Rekha ji a couple of years ago. The whole interview is done and then Rekha ji says, ‘Nah, I don’t want to do this. Can we scrap it?’ First of all, she seldom gives interviews. That interview is still lying with me. She said we’d do it again.”

Shahid Kapoor, the talented son of renowned actors Pankaj Kapur and Neliima Azeem, began his career in Bollywood after honing his skills as a dancer under the guidance of Shiamak Dawar. He made his mark in the industry with his background performances in popular films such as Yash Chopra’s ‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’ (1997) and Subhash Ghai’s ‘Taal’ (1999). Following his impactful debut in ‘Ishq Vishk,’ Shahid went on to star in numerous successful films, including the beloved ‘Jab We Met’ and, more recently, the blockbuster ‘Kabir Singh.’ Audiences are eagerly awaiting his next performance in the upcoming film ‘Deva.’

After much anticipation, the actor shared another sneak peek of the film, hinting at a Valentine’s Day release on February 14, 2025, with the tagline “Get ready for a bloody Valentine’s.” In the image, Shahid dons a bulletproof police vest over a t-shirt and jeans, holding a gun and exuding readiness for action. His chiselled physique and fresh short haircut caught everyone’s attention.
