When Raveena Tandon Opened Up On Engagement With Akshay Kumar: 'Girls Have Been Changing BFs Every Week...'
Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar’s relationship first sparked buzz after their blockbuster film Mohra in 1994.

Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar’s romance first sparked after their blockbuster film Mohra in 1994, quickly becoming one of Bollywood’s hottest topics. Rumour has it they got engaged in a hush-hush ceremony with both families in the late ’90s. Despite their serious commitment, the relationship fizzled out, and they split in 1998, as per reports.

During a previous podcast with the news agency ANI, Raveena was asked about the Akshay Kumar chapter and her engagement, which she said she had “forgotten” about. Though the engagement was shrouded in secrecy for years, Raveena eventually spilled the beans, revealing that despite the engagement, they never made it to the altar. The actor had said, “We were a hit pair, during Mohra, and even now, when we bump into each other socially, we all meet, we all chat. Everyone moves on. Girls have been changing their boyfriends every week in colleges, but one engagement that has broken is still stuck to my head, I don’t know why. Everyone moves on, people have divorces, they move on, what’s the big deal?”

Recently, Raveena opened about to Galatta about shooting Tip Tip Barsa Paani from Mohra. The hottest rain song of its time featured Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon heating up the screen while romancing in freezing water. The iconic Tip Tip Barsa Paani from Mohra is still remembered for its sizzling chemistry, but Raveena reveals it came with its own set of hardships — bleeding knees, a high fever and a lot of “pain.”

She said that involved freezing cold water from a tanker, not heated water. Filmed on a construction site, she couldn’t wear knee pads or heels due to stones and nails. She ended up with bleeding knees and ankles and had to get a tetanus shot after a rusted nail pierced her foot. “It looks all glamourous, you must be thinking, ‘Oh these guys must’ve had a blast’. No we didn’t. There was nothing happening there! It was painful, there were bruises, and just the face was happy. On the second day after repeated cold showers, I got fever, which is how I shot for the next three days,” she said.
