The key lies in the HPV vaccine and early detection tests. We have the means to ensure no one loses their life to this disease. Over the years, Pooja Pandey’s name has become synonymous with trolling and negative comments as she is constantly judged by people for the way she lives. Back in 2022, during her appearance as a contestant on the Kangana Ranaut-hosted reality show Lock Upp, Pandey spoke about how she was constantly judged.

Speaking about how she had not been accepted by people to co-contestant Sara Khan, Pandey had said then, “I have just been judged and trolled. I am mostly judged by women and not men because I am not a Bharatiya Naari (Indian woman). I don’t do things as per the Indian culture. I am treated like an alien. People react differently just by hearing the name Poonam Pandey. I feel very bad because today I am not someone’s wife or daughter-in-law, but I am someone’s daughter. Just because I did a few things in my life, I have been blacklisted.”

Poonam Pandey continued saying that people called her wrong when she was beaten up and hospitalised and even for not wearing appropriate clothes. Notably, in 2021, Pandey’s ex-husband Sam Bombay allegedly assaulted her following which the model-actor had to undergo treatment at a hospital. She had multiple injuries on her head, face, and eyes.

Poonam Pandey’s popularity skyrocketed after she released a video message ahead of the 2011 Cricket World Cup final in which she promised to strip if India won the final match. Her audacious claim drew the attention of users from across all social media platforms. In addition to that, she left everyone shocked after a bathroom video of hers leaked on social media. The viral clip showed Pandey dancing while taking a shower. However, the video was blocked by YouTube later.

On Thursday, February 1, a post was shared by Poonam Pandey’s team on her official Instagram handle to inform about her death. It read, “This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared.”
