Shatrughan Sinha was considered a bankable action hero from the early 80s to mid 90s. He was miles ahead of Amitabh Bachchan in terms of stardom and fame during his peak years. However, this never created a rift between these superstars as they still share an unbroken friendship bond.
The duo worked together in numerous films like Kaala Patthar, Dostana, Naseeb, Shaan, Raaste Ka Patthar and others. Amitabh Bachchan continued his journey in the entertainment industry while Shatrughan Sinha decided to stay away from films to join politics. Once, Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha appeared on a popular TV chat show. They shared a few stories of their friendship on the show. Among many, the one which attracted the attention of the viewers was one in which Amitabh Bachchan pushed the car of Shatrughan Sinha.
The duo participated in Sajid Khan’s chat show where they recalled funny incidents of their friendship and life. Big B said that Shatrughan Sinha used to have a car in which he along with others used to go watch movies. The Deewar actor also made fun of Shatrugan Sinha’s car.
Shahenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan further said that once all of them were going to watch a movie by sitting in Shatrughan Sinha’s car, but his ‘Khatara’ car broke down before reaching halfway. Even at that time, the actor who made everyone ‘Silence’ enjoyed the same status as his friends. Big B had said that the actor would sit in the car while everyone else had to push the car.
Everyone present there burst out laughing after hearing these secrets of their best friend. Whereas Shatrughan Sinha himself turned red with embarrassment while laughing.
The friendship bond between the duo does not have a clean slate though. They too have their setback and fight. Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha often talks about his feud with his once-friend Amitabh Bachchan. He remembered the day on the set of Yash Chopra’s 1979 film Kala Patthar where it all began.
In a chat with Zoom, Shatrughan Sinha shared that a fight sequence in Kala Patthar was altered in favour of Bachchan which did not go down well with him. Recalling the incident, he said, that there was a fight sequence in Kaala Patthar which was not in the script but was approved by Amitabh’s team. The actor later admitted that there was a bit of disagreement with Amitabh Bachchan back then even though they were friends during their early struggles.
