Ugadi observes the start of a new year by the Hindu lunar calendar which will be celebrated today, April 9. On the special occasion of this festival, ETV Telugu India will stream a special programme showing the cast of the Telugu film Family Star starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur.
Family Star’s producer Dil Raju will also take part in this programme. ETV Telugu has unveiled a promo for this event on April 8 which shows the intriguing glimpses. As shown in the promo, actor and comedian Sudigali Sudheer hosted this program. Vijay and Mrunal had a nice time playing many games and dancing on some tracks as well along with the crew of ETV Telugu. The promo ends with a brilliant performance by Sudheer and an actress on a popular Telugu track titled Kurchi Madathapetti from the film Guntur Kaaram.
Social media users are eagerly anticipating the release of this episode and one of them commented that he is eager to watch Sudheer’s performance on the song Kurchi Madathapetti. Another wrote that Telugu folk singer Kondanna’s performance was not up to the mark.
Family Star directed by Parasuram released at the cinemas on April 5 and opened to mixed to positive reviews from critics and social media users. Critics lauded the acting, music and the camerawork but opined that the writing has no novelty and the dialogues also lack any originality. Besides Mrunal and Vijay, Divyansha Kaushik, Ajay Ghosh, Jon Bravo and others have also acted in this film. Family Star marks the first on-screen collaboration between Mrunal and Vijay.
Despite some negative reviews regarding the film, Mrunal is happy with her work as she is finally getting noticed by the people. She talked about it in a conversation with the IANS while on her trip to Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai. She expressed gratitude to the audience and said, “I want to say thank you to everyone for giving me so much love. It took me a long time to reach into the hearts of the audience but now when I am finally there, I am very grateful. I will keep working hard and will bring more and more films."
