Kristen Stewart has expressed her annoyance at watching average and methodical sex scenes in movies nowadays. The actress, best known for her role as Bella in the acclaimed film series Twilight, revealed that she is “sick" of the planned way celebrities engage in intimate scenes, which do not even remotely mirror the physical intimacy that happens in real life. Kristen Stewart, currently geared up for the release of her upcoming film Love Lies Bleeding, will reportedly feature in multiple sex sequences with her co-star Katy O’Brian in the Rose Glass directorial. According to her, sex was something that should be direct and not be conducted in a chalked-out manner.
In an interaction with NBC News, Kristen Stewart opened up, “The run-of-the-mill, like, just-go-for-it simulated sex thing is so rote. And it’s like actors do have this default thing where, like, ‘Ok, we’re supposed to make out and have sex now.’ That’s just not how people have sex, and I’m so sick of seeing it."

Speaking about Love Lies Bleeding, Kristan Stewart continued that the sex scenes portrayed in the R-rated film focused on the intricate details of the act, and conversed about the physical experience. “Like verbalising it, talking to each other, sharing space, having it not be cut up into a ton of different shots, it felt like… a really beautiful thing to deliver an experience that was, like, literal instead of faux," she added.
Katy O’Brian, who was also present in the interview session opined that Love Lies Bleeding’s biggest takeaway would be asking one’s partner “what they like" in bed. “You don’t see that in a movie," she said.
Earlier, while fronting the January cover story of Variety magazine, Kristan Stewart revealed that although the characters in Love Lies Bleeding do not take off their clothes during an intimate sequence, the scenes would still “shock" the audience.
Love Lies Bleeding revolves around solitary gym manager Lou (Kristan Stewart) who falls in love with a career-driven bodybuilder, Jackie (Katy O’Brian). Jackie is headed towards Las Vegas to follow her dreams. But when romance blooms between Lou and Jackie, “their love ignites violence", with the two ensnared in Lou’s criminal-oriented family. The film is slated to premiere on March 8 from A24 in select theatres.
