Tish Cyrus recently addressed the challenges in her marriage with Dominic Purcell. She acknowledged differences in personality as a source of conflict. In a recent episode of daughter Brandi’s podcast, Tish discussed how her tendency to take things personally clashes with Purcell’s blunt nature. Despite these differences, Tish remains optimistic about resolving issues through time and patience. The mother of pop sensation Miley Cyrus emphasised witnessing personal growth since marrying the Prison Break actor.
Tish explained, “I was so scared when I first met Dom, my husband, which was not that long ago. It is crazy because I am a Taurus and he is an Aquarius and every single thing I read said, ‘Don’t even do it. It is the absolute worst pairing.’ The growth I truly have had with him is crazy and I had to really grow because I am so easily offended. I feel like I take things so personally and he is just very blunt. Unless I’m upset or sad or something of course he’s gonna coddle me for a second but I just cannot believe it because I was so used to from my mom, I was an only child, I was adopted, so I was coddled a lot. I kind of have needed that but that’s just not who he is. He is not emotional and that could be a problem.”
“But you know what? This is where I’ve grown, is like, I just feel like instead now of me getting so offended, because I respect and love him, that we have conversations and instead getting so upset and heated about it and me not taking it personally, just letting him have an opinion. I’ve never been good at that. These are definitely issues but issues also, because I love him that I’m dealing with,” Tish Cyrus added.
During the podcast, Tish did not delve into specific issues, but her remarks seemed to allude to earlier reports from People suggesting her efforts to mend her relationship with daughter Noah, who had previously dated Dominic Purcell. Notably, during Tish’s private marriage ceremony with Dominic in Malibu, US, Brandi and Miley were in attendance, while Noah and her brother Braison Cyrus opted not to attend the event.
Previously, Tish disclosed that her romance with the Flash star began with an Instagram DM. Following her divorce from Billy Ray Cyrus in 2022, she reached out to him and he responded almost instantly. During their conversation, he confessed to having a crush on her. Meanwhile, the couple took their relationship public in November 202. They later announced engagement in April 2023 and exchanged vows later that year in August.
