Rajinikanth, the most popular star of Indian cinema, especially Tamil films, is looking forward to his much-anticipated movie Thalaivar 171, written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. This film stars an ensemble cast of Prithviraj Sukumaran, Ranveer Singh, Parvathy Thiruvothu and others with the film in the pre-production stage now.
There are no reports regarding the fact that who will play the antagonist in the film but some reports have suggested that the actor Mohan might be roped in to enact the villain. According to the reports, he might sign this film soon. The name of his character and the other details related to it are still to be disclosed in the public domain.
Mohan has proven his acting mettle by acting in several films like Payanangal Mudivathillai, Mela Thiranthathu Kadhavu, etc. The Mela Thiranthathu Kadhavu actor is known for the prefix Mike before his name as he had donned the role of a stage singer in most of his films.
Besides Mohan, Vijay Sethupathi is also reportedly in talks with the director Lokesh to play a pivotal role in Thalaivar 171. Also, there are rumours that Shah Rukh Khan may play a cameo role in this film. The official teaser for Thalaivar 171 will be unveiled on August 22 and will disclose the film’s official title. It will also give us an overview of what to expect from it.
Currently, there are no reports regarding the storyline of Thalaivar 171 but the director hinted about its premise in an interview. He told the Cinema Express,” Personally, what I love about Rajini sir is his villainism. I am going to show that side as much as I can.”
As per an Etimes report, Thalaivar 171 hit troubled waters when Rajinikanth expressed his disappointment regarding the storyline. He had reportedly asked the director to make some changes to the film’s story. The Jailer actor had also asked him to avoid violent action sequences.
Rajinikanth last acted in the 2023 blockbuster release, Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, in a full-fledged role. There were reports that he had charged a whopping Rs 250+ crore for this film.
