Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are one of the most loved Bollywood couples. The duo, who got married in June after 7 years of dating, do not shy away from flaunting their love for each other in public. Recently, the star couple arrived as special guests on the dancing reality show India’s Best Dancer 4, where the Notebook actor revealed that superstar Salman Khan played cupid in their life to help them unite.
During the episode, when the host Jay Bhanushali asked the newlyweds whether there was a cupid between them, Zaheer mentioned the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor’s name. He said, “He was the first to notice. Unhone mujhe bulaya aur kaha ki tum bhi family ho aur woh bhi family hai, toh kya ho raha hai. Maine kaha nahi nahi, genuine feelings hain. (Salman called me and said that you are my family and she is also my family, so what actually is happening between you two? I said we have genuine feelings) and we really love each other.”
“We weren’t in love at the time, but we did like one other. We weren’t dating, but he noted that we often talked for hours in another corner,” the actor added.
Both Sonakshi and Zaheer kept their relationship private before getting married earlier this year. Recently, during the CNN-News18 Mumbai Townhall 2024 event, the two revealed their reasons for staying private, shedding light on their journey as a couple.
The Dabangg actress said, “Nazar,” hinting at the common belief of warding off negative energy. “I believe it is always best to keep private matters secret. You’re already in the spotlight, and everyone knows everything about you. Something so precious to you should be kept for yourself,” she said.
Zaheer, however, admitted that he initially thought his feelings were just the result of something new and exciting. “I knew from the beginning that she was the one, but I only accepted it much later,” he said.
On the work front, Sonakshi Sinha was last seen in the horror-comedy film Kakuda alongside Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem. She will be next seen reportedly in the film Tu Hai Meri Kiran opposite her husband Zaheer Iqbal. The duo shared the screen space for the first time in the comedy-drama film Double XL which also starred Huma Qureshi and Mahat Raghvendra.
