Generally, the Independence Day weekend has always been an important time for Indian cinema. This time, there will be three Bollywood releases that will be at loggerheads with each other and are expected to increase the footfall at the cinema halls. But looks like this year there will be stiff competition.

The highly anticipated films are Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein, John Abraham’s Vedaa and Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2. These three will hit the screens on August 15.

It will be interesting to see these three big-budget films promise a great battle at the box office. Khel Khel Mei is helmed by Mudassar Aziz and will star Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Aparshakti Khurana, Johnny Lever, and Omi Vaidya. The film has been generating much buzz among the fans due to the star-studded casting. The comedy-drama generally resonates well with the audience. Khel Khel Mein’s motion poster was released on July 15, a month before the launch of the film. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Ashwin Varde, Vipul D. Shah, Rajesh Bahl, Shashikant Sinha, and Ajay Rai.

In an interview, Fardeen Khan named Tom and Jerry to be his favourite comedy cartoon to which Khiladi responded that it is violence. He also shared that many of the action sequences in his films are inspired by this cartoon.

On the other hand is Nikhil Advani’s Vedaa. It will have an interesting cast ensemble featuring Sharvari Wagh, Tamannaah Bhatia, Kshitij Chauhan and Abhishek Banerjee in important roles. The makers made sure to keep increasing the hype bit by bit. The biggest crowd-puller for this film is John Abraham who has previously delivered action-packed performances.

Another film that will clash at the box office is Amar Kaushik’s Stree 2. The horror-comedy will star Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Tamannaah Bhatia, Aparshakti Khurana, Vijay Raaz and many others. Previously, the audience showered their love on the first part titled Stree.
