Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming cinematic venture, Saree, has been making headlines for a long time. The film is said to be a pan-India project and will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam with the tagline ‘Too Much Love Can Be Scary’.
Meanwhile, according to the latest reports, the theatrical rights of Saree have been bagged at a fancy rate by renowned distributor Mutyala Ramdas. It will be released in Telugu by Venkata Sai Films in the states of Andhra and Telangana.
Saree, a psychological thriller, promises to delve into the dark nuances of obsession and stalking. The film is directed by Aghosh Vyshnavam and is said to be based on many real-life incidents. The main theme of the film revolves around how a boy’s life becomes scary after seeing a girl in a saree and falling in love with her in a very harmful and dangerous way. The film will star Sreelakshmi Satheesh in the lead role, who has now changed her name to Aaradhya Devi.
Meanwhile, in a recent media interaction, producer Ram Gopal Varma said, “We are planning to release Saree in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam in November. The teaser that we released recently got a great response. Saree is a psychological thriller with a combination of real-life incidents. The film will be released in Telugu by Venkata Sai Films in Andhra and Telangana states, with well-known distributor Mutyala Ramdas acquiring the theatrical rights.”
Popular broadcaster Mutyala Ramdas said, “I have seen many films of Ram Gopal Varma; he shows the actual events happening in today’s society. This time they are going to show a collection of real-life events with the movie Saree. Ram Gopal Varma, often referred to by his initials RGV, has worked as a film director, screenwriter and producer and is known for his works in Telugu cinema in addition to Hindi, Kannada films and television. Some of his popular films include Kshana Kshanam, Anaganaga Oka Roj and Madhyanam Hathya, to name a few.
