SS Rajamouli Condemns Surekha For 'Baseless' Claims About Samantha, Naga Chaitanya: 'Industry Won't Tolerate...'

SS Rajamouli has condemned Konda Surekha for her shocking claims about Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya’s divorce. He said that ‘baseless allegations’ by public officials are ‘intolerable’. The minister claimed that KT Rama Rao demanded Samantha be sent to him in exchange for sparing Nagarjuna’s N Convention Center from demolition, and that her refusal led to Samantha’s divorce from Naga Chaitanya.

Earlier today, Nagarjuna filed a criminal defamation case against Konda Surekha regarding her shocking claims. Naga Chaitanya took to X to share the complaint letter.

For the unversed, Surekha recently claimed that Rama Rao was responsible for the split between Naga Chaitanya and Samantha, sparking a wave of controversy. According to Surekha, KTR’s alleged interference caused disturbances in the Akkineni family, which ultimately led to the high-profile divorce.

Konda Surekha claimed that KT Rama Rao demanded that Samantha be sent to him in exchange for sparing Nagarjuna Akkineni’s N-Convention Centre from demolition. According to Surekha, when Samantha refused, it led to her separation from Naga Chaitanya. KTR issued a legal notice to Konda Surekha to withdraw her statement. While she has retracted the statement, it has created a massive uproar in the film industry.

Taking to X, Nagarjuna previously condemned the allegations. He said, “I strongly condemn the comments of the Honorable Minister Mrs. Konda Surekha. Don’t use the lives of movie stars who stay away from politics to criticize your opponents. Please respect other people’s privacy. As a woman in a responsible position, your comments and accusations against our family are completely irrelevant and false. I request you to withdraw your comments immediately.”

Responding to the claim, Samantha took to Instagram to issue a strongly-worded statement. “To be a woman, to come out and work, to survive in a glamorous industry where women are more often than not treated as props, to fall in love & to fall out of love, to still stand up and fight… It takes a lot of courage and strength,” she wrote.

Directly addressing Surekha, Samantha added, “Konda Surekha Garu, I am proud of what this journey turned me into—please don’t trivialise it. I hope you realise that your words carry significant weight as a minister. I implore you to be responsible and respectful of individuals’ privacy.”

Naga Chaitanya also reacted to the claims. Chaitanya called the claims “ridiculous” and clarified the situation. “The decision of divorce is easily one of the most painful and unfortunate life decisions one has to make. After a lot of thought, a mutual decision was made by me and my former spouse to part ways.” Several stars such as Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi and Nani stood up for the Akkineni family and Samantha.
