Actors Sonu Sood and Riteish Deshmukh, who are associated with the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) season 10, have recently opened up about some funny memories from the cricket league. In a recent interview, Sonu Sood – talking about his association with CCL – said: “For me, Celebrity Cricket League is more than just a game. Together, we actors have the opportunity to have a great time, both on and off the field. I remember a hilarious incident when, once on the field, I hit a shot in the air and within moments, Manoj was under the ball. He screamed to drop it. But he didn’t, and later, in a fun manner, he came to the crease smiling and said, sorry.” Sonu Sood added that he is very excited for the new season and what is in store for them.
Talking about the same, Riteish said, “I have always been passionate about CCL; in fact, we all have been. There is a very funny memory, actually. I remember that when I got married, the next day, I was playing a match for my team. So, at the time of the reception, I had some team members who took me to one corner and persuaded me to play the next day.”
CCL was launched in 2011 and has now evolved to become India’s most-watched sports and entertainment event. Punjab De Sher has Sonu as its leader, and Mumbai Heroes has Riteish.
Telugu actor Akhil Akkineni is the captain of Telugu Warriors, Arya is the captain of Chennai Rhinos, Kiccha Sudeep is the captain of Karnataka Bulldozers, Kunchako Boban is the captain of Kerala Strikers, Manoj Tiwari is the captain of Bhojpuri Dabbangs and Boney Kapoor is the owner of Bengal Tigers, along with its team’s captain Jisshu Sengupta.
There are a total of eight teams representing India’s major film industries, including Hindi, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. More than 200 of the most popular and well-liked movie stars will be together on CCL Season 10’s platform, providing unrivalled entertainment.
Spread over four weekends, and with 20 entertaining matches that appeal to a wide audience beyond cricket fans, the adrenaline-pumping tournament will be live-streamed starting February 23 on JioCinema.
