Sean 'Diddy' Combs Claims 'Government' Leaked His Video Showing Physical Assault On Ex-Partner
The video in question is from 2016, when Diddy was in a relationship with Cassie Ventura.

A video of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs stirred quite a controversy earlier this year, showing the now-arrested rapper physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel hallway. While Combs took full responsibility for his actions and apologised publicly, his lawyers have now accused the federal government of “orchestrating” the leak of the video to the media.

According to TMZ, Diddy’s legal team accused the feds of the misconduct, claiming that the Department of Homeland Security agents undermined the rapper for months, leading to his arrest last month. They have now called for action against the same.

The video in question is from 2016, during Diddy’s relationship with Cassie. It shows an incident that took place at a Los Angeles hotel, where tensions escalated, leading to a brutal assault by the rapper. According to legal documents cited by TMZ, Diddy’s lawyers are placing blame on Homeland Security rather than the US Attorney’s office.

They have claimed the day the video came out, a member of Diddy’s team received a call from the media, seeking comments on the same that they intend to publish. The correspondent indicated that they “came across a video and currently have in our possession surveillance footage from the Intercontinental Hotel in Los Angeles in 2016.” Diddy’s lawyers further state, “My concern is that someone (not any of you and not the lead case agents) provided this footage to CNN. I bring this to your attention solely because I imagine you didn’t want this to happen any more than I do.”

They further claim that DHS might be the source for the leak, pointing out that the department has been often mentioned in the news around the raids and ongoing investigation. The team even said that the video was leaked to “damage” Diddy’s reputation.

Earlier in November 2023, Cassie Ventura sued Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs for sexual assault and physical abuse. Following this, a series of raids at his Los Angeles and Miami residences turned up troves of evidence, leading to multiple other lawsuits. Some of the most serious charges are of running a “criminal enterprise” that includes sex trafficking, racketeering, fraud or coercion, and others. He is currently in custody, awaiting his trial.
