The Sarabhais are back! Popular show Sarabhai vs Sarabhai is all set to come back on the screen but this time on web and not on TV. The show that narrated the story of the Sarabhai family, was one of the most loved comedy shows on TV in the early 2000s.
After a 10-year long hiatus, the cast and crew gave millions of fans a sneak peak into their comeback show when they all met up for a reunion. The principal cast, comprising of Ratna Pathak Shah, Satish Shah, Sumeet Raghavan, Rajesh Kumar and Rupali Ganguly will be reprising their characters in the web series but the show will take a 7 year leap.
The shooting of the show will begin end of March and the makers are hoping to air the show by May 2017. “After the show wrapped up, all of us, including the actors, got busy with other commitments. However, at every public event and even at private functions in the last 10 years, I was always asked when Sarabhai vs Sarabhai was returning. It was public demand which finally compelled us to set aside everything else and concentrate on developing a quality script which lives up to the audience’s expectations. Shooting will continue all through April. We are targeting a May release,” informs actor-producer-director Jamnadas Majethia told a leading daily.
The show, which aired on TV in 2004, will be also introducing some new characters and the looks of the cast is also likely to change.
