A day ahead of the release of Amar Singh Chamkila on April 12, its special screening was hosted by the makers of the film in Mumbai. Besides the lead pair of the film, Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, many celebs from the industry graced the carpet with their stunning appearances. Among them was Sanjana Sanghi who made head turns with her elegant presence in a beautiful red and orange saree. The actress, on Friday, posted a few snapshots from the evening while expressing gratitude to legendary musician AR Rahman for his guidance.
Sanjana, on her Instagram handle, wrote, “From Mandy to Kizie – to be guided under our maestro @arrahman ‘s musical mystical light has been one of the greatest honours & joys of my life #ForeverAFangirl. And here’s to yesterday night, these magical moments witnessing @imtiazaliofficial ‘s mesmerising depiction of #AmarSinghChamkila ‘s might.” The Kadak Singh actress posed for a picture with AR Rahman as the duo flaunted their million-dollar smile. Another picture posted by Sanjana featured her standing against the backdrop of Amar Singh Chamkila’s poster as she made a heart using her hand.
Sanjana Sanghi first collaborated with AR Rahman for the film Rockstar, headlined by Ranbir Kapoor. The music maestro’s work for the romantic drama film earned widespread love from fans. Moving forward to 2020, the duo reunited for Dil Bechara in which Sanjana played the lead alongside Sushant Singh Rajput, who passed away a few months before the release of the film.
Speaking about his composition for Dil Bechara, AR Rahman earlier told Mid-day, “When I write songs, I let them breathe for some time and then present them to the director. It was a great experience collaborating with Mukesh (director Mukesh Chhabra) on this film; his enthusiasm is infectious. This album is carefully curated because the film has so much heart, and now, memories of Sushant.”
Meanwhile, Amar Singh Chamkila saw an OTT release on Netflix on April 12. In the film, Diljit plays Amar Singh Chamkila while Parineeti Chopra joins him to essay Amarjot Kaur. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film is based on the real-life story of a Punjabi Singer who was shot dead at the age of 27.
Coming back to Sanjana Sanghi, the Rockstar actress was last seen in Kadak Singh. In the film, Pankaj Tripathi played the protagonist while Sanjana played Sakshi, Kadak’s daughter.
