Sandeep Reddy Vanga Wants To Make A Biopic On Michael Jackson: 'Everybody Will Buy Tickets'

Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for movies like Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh, has found success with his latest film Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor. With anticipation mounting upon his next magnum opus Spirit, starring Prabhas, the film-maker expressed in a recent interview that he wants to helm a biopic on one of the most celebrated global music icons Michael Jackson.

During an interaction with Baradwaj Rangan for Galatta Plus, Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared, “I want to do a biopic sometime. I would like to direct the biopic of Michael Jackson. But the question is, who will play him, who will be the actor? But if you get an actor, you can pitch it to Hollywood and you can make it in English. He led a very interesting life, right from his childhood to his schooling and how he changed his skin colour and all. It’s a great journey and a great story. But who would be the right actor, that’s the question. That will be a dream and everybody will buy the ticket. Whoever directs it, I would buy the tickets and watch it because I want to know.”

In the meantime, during the pre-release event of Vishwak Sen’s Gaami, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga gave an interesting update about his next film Spirit. He revealed that the shooting of Spirit will start sometime at the end of 2024.

This statement from the sensational director was met with hoots and cheers from the members at the event. The news has raised the excitement level among the fans. Pinkvilla also mentioned in its report that Prabhas is set to play the role of an angry young cop. The film will be in Sandeep’s style, with no compromise on violence. Production designer Suresh Selvarajan had also revealed earlier that Prabhas’ Spirit will be much bigger and grander than Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. The film will be bankrolled by Kabir Singh and Animal producer Bhushan Kumar under the T-Series banner.

After Spirit, owing to the humongous success of Animal, there was an official announcement of the film’s sequel Animal Park. Buzz is that, filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga will begin working on the film in 2026. Animal released on December 1, minted over Rs 1000 crores at the box office.
