Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor on Wednesday gave a shoutout to the Swachh Bharat Mission, as the nation celebrates 10 years of the iconic cleanliness initiative. In a joint social media post, the duo encouraged citizens to continue working toward a cleaner, greener India. Alia Bhatt has also joined the mission.
Taking to Instagram handle, Kareena Kapoor shared a video in which she and Saif Ali Khan are posing and encouraging citizens to always clean their surroundings. “Let’s unite for a cleaner and greener India! A heartfelt shoutout to #SHS2024 and the amazing Swacchagrahis who are championing this cause,” read the caption. Fans also reacted.

On Wednesday morning, PIB India took to X and shared that Alia has joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mission to make the country clean. In the video shared, Alia said, “The #SwachhBharatMission spearheaded by Prime Minister @narendramodi marks a significant step towards realising Gandhi Ji’s dream of a clean and self-reliant India. Let’s all come together and take this mission to new heights and make our country even more beautiful.”
The Swachh Bharat Mission began on October 2, 2014. Today marks a decade since the initiative. On the occasion, he participating in a cleanliness drive in a school in New Delhi. Sharing pictures from the event, PM Modi said, “Today, on Gandhi Jayanti, I took part in Swachhata related activities with my young friends. I urge you all to also take part in some or the other such activity during the day and at the same time, keep strengthening the Swachh Bharat Mission. #10YearsOfSwachhBharat.”
On the work front, Saif Ali Khan is currently seen in Devara with Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. The film released on September 27. The film marks Jr NTR’s first solo release in six years. The film has already sold tickets worth Rs 80 crore. And Kareena Kapoor Khan is currently seen in The Buckingham Murders. The film was released on September 13.
