Rupali Ganguly's Brother Vijay Ganguly Is 'So Happy' As She Joins BJP: 'This Is What She Wanted To Do'

Rupali Ganguly’s brother Vijay Ganguly is “so happy” for his actress-sister as she joins the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Speaking to an entertainment portal, Vijay shared that the entire family is happy for the Anupamaa star. He mentioned that this is what Rupali always wanted to do and hoped that she “flourishes” in politics too.

“I just now got to know about it and I’m so happy as this what she wanted to do. She wanted to join politics and it has happened and it’s so good. Papa was also a supporter of BJP so he would be up there and would be so proud of her. We just hope that whatever she wants to do in life, whatever decisions that she takes, we all just wish that she flourishes and does well. The whole family is very happy for her. Mummy is also very happy,” Vijay told E-Times.

For the unversed, Rupali Ganguly visited the BJP headquarters in New Delhi earlier today when she joined the political party and said, “I am so honoured to be here. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has influenced me a lot. I am a big fan of PM Modi. BJP has been doing great work and therefore I wanted to join the BJP. I am very thankful to the party.” Rupali was also joined by political leaders Vinod Tawde and Anil Baluni at the press conference.

The actress also spoke to the news agency ANI when she shared that it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s working style and personality which made her join the “Modi sena”. “The one personality that attracts everyone towards BJP is PM Modi. His working style, personality and the way he has taken our country towards development, every Indian wants to join ‘Modi Sena’ and contribute to the country and I also felt the same and hence I joined BJP,” she said.

Later, in an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Nidhi Shah, who plays the role of Rupali’s daughter-in-law, Kinjal in Anupamaa also congratulated Rupali and said, “I am a bit surprised but I feel so happy for her because it is a huge thing. Currently, BJP is doing so well. I think, Rupali has taken a very good decision by joining BJP. I wish her all the best. It is a big thing. What she does and what she is in the show (Anupama), it influences a lot of people. She is an influential person. I just want to wish her all the best. It is a big thing for her, she should celebrate it.”

Rupali Ganguly is known for playing the role of Anupamaa in Rajan Shahi’s popular show of the same name. The show has been ruling TRP charts for years now and is widely loved by the audience. Besides Rupali, Anupamaa also stars Gaurav Khanna, Sudhanshu Pandey, Nidhi Shah, Sagar Parekh, Ashish Mehrotra and Alpana Buch among others.
