The actress dropped her pic on Instagram and captioned it, “Happy women’s day to all my lovely ladies. Being a woman is a blessing. Remember that!”

Actress Rashmika Mandanna shared a post to mark International Women’s Day. The 27-year-old dropped a cute photo of herself on Instagram and captioned it, “Happy women’s day to all my lovely ladies…Being a woman is a blessing.. remember that!” Mandanna’s post gathered over 1.7 lakh likes in just one hour. Mandanna is known for working in super hit films across Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi film industries. She is believed to be one of the highest-paid actors in South India. Since her debut in 2016, she has earned SIIMA Awards and a Filmfare Award South.

Earlier this year, she made it to Forbes India’s converted 30 under 30 list, where 30 “trailblazers and disruptors” who are under the age of 30 are chosen for excellence in their field. This year, three actors made it to the list, namely Rashmika Mandanna, Radhika Madan, and Aditi Dot.

Back in December, Mandanna played the role of Geetanjali in Animal. Even as Animal became a box office hit, the film got much criticism for being misogynistic. Mandanna defended her character in a lengthy note on X (Formerly Twitter). In her post, she described Geetanjali as “pure, real, unfiltered, strong and raw” but also mentioned that sometimes during the shoot she “would question some of Gitanjali’s actions.”

The Pushpa and Geetha Govindam star spoke on the occasion of International Women’s Day covering diverse issues. While talking about the progress that society is making towards gender equality, Mandanna shared an optimistic view and said, “With each passing day, the norms of society are also changing for good. Women should always be part of the growth that is happening. They are capable of bringing change to society. Also, the cycle of generations keeps repeating. The norms or the change that we brought to society now will get older when we get older and the next generation turns young. I strongly believe that change needs to come within and has to start from home,” the actress said as quoted by Pinkvilla.

When asked if she thinks we are still far behind in achieving a gender-equal world, Mandanna said, “No. I don’t think we are far anymore. We have achieved it and are doing well. Women are in the top positions in almost all professions and fields, being an inspiration to their fellow women who are trying to make it big in life.”
