Telugu producer Mallemala Shyam Prasad Reddy’s wife, M Varalakshmi, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, after suffering from the final stage of cancer. As per reports, she passed away around 8:25 PM. M Varalakshmi is survived by her husband, Shyam Prasad Reddy, and two daughters, Deepthi and Maithri.
Also, M Varalakshmi was the daughter of the late former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy.
The news of the demise of Varalakshmi at the age of 62 has left a profound sense of loss and sadness, creating a void in the family. As per 123Telugu, her last rites are to be performed today, August 8 at 3 PM in Jubilee Hills Maha Prasthanam.
Soon after receiving the news of her demise, Tollywood celebrities including Megastar Chiranjeevi, Dil Raju, and Allu Arvind visited Shyam Prasad Reddy’s residence earlier this morning and expressed their condolences.
Shyam Prasad Reddy is a prominent producer in the Telugu film industry. He founded Mallemala Entertainments and made his debut as a film producer with Thalambralu in 1986. Since then, he has produced several serials and TV programs, including Jabardasth, a popular comedy TV show. He is known for bankrolling films such as Thalambralu, Ammoru, Ahuti, Ankusham, Anji, and Arundhati. It is worth noting that he has won three Nandi Awards.
Currently, Shyam Prasad Reddy is working as a producer for the comedy show Jabardasth, which aired on the popular TV channel ETV on February 7, 2013. This comedy television show produced by Mallemala Entertainments was directed by Sanjeev K Kumar and later directed by Sanjeev’s associates Nithin and Bharat. While the show garnered much respect for the producer, it has also landed in severe controversies, including one episode that aired on October 30, 2014, that featured scenes of Brahmin characters drinking alcohol.
Moreover, his last movie Arundhati revolves around a brave queen who battles an evil mystic. However, three generations later, the evil mystic comes back to haunt the queen’s descendants. Kodi Ramakrishna’s directorial featured Sonu Sood, Divya Nagesh and Anushka Shetty in lead roles.
