In all cities in India on March 22, people chose to stay at home in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for a Janata Curfew to check the spread of the coronavirus. Shops and eateries were closed and vehicles remained off the roads as people nationwide obeyed the call for staying at home in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Celebrities had urged people in India to abide by Janata Curfew and had shared videos and messages encouraging the same.
