Priyanka Chopra is back in India and received a warm welcome as soon as she touched down in Mumbai. Earlier today, she was seen departing from the Mumbai Airport in chic athleisure. The actress then made her way to Gateway of India, as per her Instagram Story.
Priyanka Chopra seemingly shared a photo of the Gateway of India from the Taj Hotel next to the historic location. She also shared a video of her plane landing and captioned it, “Mumbai meri jaan.” Check out the photos here:
This is her first public appearance after her husband, singer Nick Jonas had a freak episode during a recent concert. The actress landed in Mumbai hours after videos of a scared Nick running off stage went viral. Although the actress did not comment on the incident yet, she appeared to be calm and composed. She smiled for the cameras and even greeted the paparazzi with folded hands. She gave the cameras a thumbs-up before she made her way to her car.
Flanked by her team from the US, Priyanka made her way to her luxury car, with fans and onlookers buzzing about her arrival. For some time now, there has been speculation that the actress is in India for a special passion project, though details have been kept under wraps.
However, it has now been revealed that she is in India to promote a brand. A source told the Hindustan Times, “There has been a lot of buzz around the reason behind Priyanka’s travel to India. But she is not coming to India for any film project, or to announce her next Bollywood project, which is being assumed by many. In fact, there is no filmy connection to her visit this time.”
“Priyanka is coming for a very special reason, and it is the launch of makeup brand Max Factor in India. There is a big event happening in Mumbai on October 18 which will mark the foray of the beauty brand in India. A lot of global media has also come down to India to cover the event,” the source added.
