GOAT director Venkat Prabhu visited the family of the late actor-politician Vijayakanth. He suggested using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to feature Vijayakanth in a cameo role in a film starring Thalapathy Vijay. In a recent interview with Galatta, Premalatha, Vijayakanth’s wife and a politician, shared that the matter would be discussed after the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
Premalatha serves as the president of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK). She has been actively engaged in election campaigning recently. During the interview, she mentioned how Venkat Prabhu had visited their house several times and held discussions with her son, Shanmugapandian. The actor has also requested a meeting with her.
Recently, during her visit to Chennai for the election campaign, they discussed the proposal. Venkat Prabhu shared why they wanted to bring back Vijayakanth for a scene in the movie GOAT.
“I’m thinking about what Captain would have wanted. We all know that he acted with Vijay in Sendhoorapandi to support his career. Captain always respected Vijay and his father, SA Chandrasekhar. He worked with SA Chandrasekhar on 17 films. If the Captain were alive, he wouldn’t refuse. I’ve told them this. After the election, Vijay can meet me, and I’ll share the good news,” she said.
“I’ve known Venkat Prabhu since we were young. Our families have a long-standing relationship with Raaja sir’s Ilaiyaraaja family. I told Venkat Prabhu that I couldn’t say no to him or Vijay,” Premalatha added.
Director Venkat Prabhu’s upcoming film GOAT marks Vijay’s 68th movie before he enters politics. Fans eagerly anticipate its release. The film is scheduled for release on September 5 in theatres worldwide.
GOAT (also known as ‘The Greatest of All Time) boasts an impressive ensemble cast, with Vijay taking on two roles.
