Karan Singh Grover is currently basking on the success of his recently released film Fighter. The film hit the theatres last week and is having a good run at the box office. While speaking about the film in an interview, the actor also opened up about the difficult times he and Bipasha went through when their new-born daughter Devi had open heart surgery.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Karan called his baby daughter a ‘fighter’ and shared. “If you knew her story, even though she’s 14 months old, she was born with two holes in her heart, and we had to go through open-heart surgery. When Mamta (from the production house Marflix) first heard about it, she was like, ‘She’s a fighter.’ I was like, ‘Dude, she is like the smallest, littlest fighter that we have, and she was the first one.’ She is like the fighter, and her being with the fighter kind of merged together.”
The actor also shared how he and Bipasha Basu dealt with it together. “Well, we didn’t really know till the third day of her birth. I would just say that to be a parent kind of requires some other strength and respect for all parents, man. And I think it was a very, very difficult situation,” he added.
Back in 2023, Bipasha revealed that their daughter underwent heart surgery three months after her birth. Devi was born with two holes in her heart. The actress shared that Devi suffered from a ventricular septal defect (VSD) when she was born. She also shared that the surgery happened and that the operation went on for six hours. The actress said that her life stopped when their daughter was inside the operation theater and added that surgery was successful and Devi is doing better.
