Jaya Bachchan Tells Navya Nanda 'You Should Marry Your Best Friend': 'Romance Will Be Out After...'
In the latest episode of 'What The Hell Navya', Navya Naveli Nanda, Jaya Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan share their opinions and ideals on modern-day friendships.

In the last episode of What The Hell Navya Season 2, Navya Naveli Nanda, Jaya Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda shared their opinions about how friendships have evolved in today’s time. In the episode, Navya reminded her grandmother about her previous statement she made in the last season – “you should marry your best friend” – and asked the veteran actress if she still maintains it.

Jaya was quick to say “yes”. However, Navya further asked her whether it is correct to put romance in between a friendship, especially if two people are “just friends” and not involved romantically. “Do you think it always works marrying your best friend?” She asked Jaya.

“Romance out of the window… it will be out (of the window) after marriage,” the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani star replied.

Navya repeated herself and said, “What if two people are just good friends? It doesn’t necessarily mean that they are going to be involved romantically.”

Shweta then interjected and asked her daughter, “Are you saying if you have feelings for your friend, should you go for it or not? I feel life is short, go for it.”

“But then it’s going to ruin your equation with your friend,” Navya pointed out.

“Your equation is anyway ruined,” Shweta responded. She continued, “Because if one person has feelings and the other one doesn’t reciprocate, it’s ruined. If the friendship is that deep and strong and the affection is there, after the hurt and pain is gone, you’ll get back to being friends. And if it isn’t, what’s the point anyway? At least you know better. Because I think when you’re in a romantic relationship with someone you understand different aspects of that person. Like you could be an amazing friend, but a terrible girlfriend to someone. So there are different layers when you’re romantically involved with someone as when you’re platonically involved with someone.”

When Jaya asked Shweta about how long the romance will last (in this case), she replied, “I don’t know mamma.”

“I have yet to hear, for lifelong,” Jaya added.
