Jagapathi Babu REVEALS Working With Salman Khan Was His 'Dream': 'I Was Always Looking Forward...'
Jagapathi Babu talked about his fondness for Salman Khan at Ruslaan's trailer launch event in Mumbai.

South actor Jagapathi Babu expressed his enthusiasm recently for having worked with Salman Khan in the 2023 multi-starrer ‘Kisi Ki Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’. During the promotional event for his new movie ‘Ruslaan’, he shared his long-standing desire to work with Khan. Not only that, Jagapathi Babu also heaped praises at the superstar by calling him ‘cool’.

The promotion for Aayush Sharma’s ‘Ruslaan’ took place on April 5, where Jagapathi Babu remarked, as quoted by India Today, “I was always looking forward with my arms open for Bollywood, and it happened with Salman Bhai. It was my dream, and it happened in 2016 (with ‘Kisi Ki Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’).”

He also mentioned, “Wanting to collaborate with Salman has always been on my agenda, and ‘Ruslaan’ presented that opportunity during its filming. Salman’s positive response to my approach for ‘Ruslaan’ was ‘It’d be really good.’ That assurance was all I needed to dive into the project, and it’s been a fulfilling experience,” Jagapathi shared.

When asked about his relationship with the Khan family, Jagapathi humorously responded, “I am glad I am almost in the family. Of course, everybody knows that Salman bhai is so cool to work with and so is Aayush. So, I think I don’t see much of a difference in working relationships. I really enjoyed doing both the films (‘Kisi Ki Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ and ‘Ruslaan’).”

Salman Khan recently lauded the trailer of ‘Ruslaan’ featuring Aayush Sharma. On social media, Salman commented, “Aayush, can see the hard work, effort and dedication put into Ruslaan, no matter what, just keep giving it your best. Hard work will always pay off. God bless and wish you all the best. Roaring in cinemas on 26th April, 2024 .”

The trailer shows Aayush being beaten up and tortured. In the voice-over, Aayush says that when someone fights for their identity, they either lose everything or they make sure that everyone remembers their name. The trailer shows us that the film is set in Mumbai and that Aayush’s character is that of a music teacher.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Aayush had earlier shared about his struggles in the film industry despite being Salman Khan’s brother-in-law. He said, “I know I’m married into a film family but that’s different. I saw the industry from the outside and it looked very glamourous. I felt things would be easy after the launch. I felt that one movie would change my life. However, that was the biggest bubble that was burst. Launch helps you but then you have to go there every Friday to prove yourself again and again.”

Directed by Karan L Butani and produced by Sri Sathya Sai Arts, Ruslaan stars Aayush Sharma, Sushrii Mishraa, Jagapathi Babu, and Vidya Malvade. It’s scheduled to be released on April 26.
