Right from Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh to Rooth Na Jana, all songs are still fresh in the minds. But did you know that the song Ek Ladki Ko Dekha was written in just five minutes? Yes, you are reading right. Farah Khan recently revealed that Javed Akhtar took five minutes to write the song.

In an interview with Radio Nasha, Farah recalled how the song came into being. “Javed uncle walks in with a blank piece of paper. Unhone kuch nahin likha tha (he hadan’t written anything). He had forgotten. He used to do that all the time. Woh homework karte nain the (He didn’t do his homework). He said, ‘Accha kya hai, fir se batao.’ He is being narrated the sequence where Anil Kapoor’s character sees Manisha Koirala for the first time and falls in love with her. He called his assistant and instructed him, “Accha likho (start writing)” and he went like “Ek Ladki ko dekha to aisa laga, jaise khilta gulaab, jaise shaayar ka khwaab, jaise ban mein hiran.” He went on without taking any pause. And he had written five other verses like that. We picked the best ones and he immediately handed out the piece of paper and said, “Yeh lo ho hagaya gaana (this song is done)”

She further said, “I get goosebumps when I think about it, but Javed uncle wrote the lyrics in five minutes, and dada (RD Burman) composed the music in five seconds. The best things are made like that.”

Well, recently Vidhu Vinod Chopra also disclosed an intriguing anecdote about the film. He revealed that Shah Rukh was initially considered for the lead role in his romantic film ‘1942: A Love Story’.

Reflecting on the history he shared with Shah Rukh, Vinod recounted, “Shah Rukh had a history with me. When I was making 1942: A Love Story, I’d seen his work. Renu (Saluja, his then-wife) had edited a film called Maya Memsaab. He had a small role. So I offered him the role. I was the first person to offer him a role. He wasn’t a star then,” Despite this, Shah Rukh’s career soared with notable hits like ‘Darr’ and ‘Baazigar’.
