The Delhi High Court has postponed Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez’s plea to September 18. She is trying to have the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) FIR and supplementary chargesheet dismissed in a Rs 200 crore money laundering case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. The court will review the case on September 18 for final arguments on her challenge to the ED’s charges under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Jacqueline Fernandez is challenging the Enforcement Directorate’s complaint and chargesheet, which name her in the Rs 200 crore extortion case with conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Her petition argues that since she is listed as a “prosecution witness” in the Delhi Police case, this should lead to a “favourable conclusion” for her. In her plea to the Delhi High Court, Fernandez claims she hasn’t committed any money laundering offenses or had “possession of proceeds of crime.”
In February this year, Jacqueline Fernandes accused Sukesh of using media as a tool to defame her image. She had also alleged harassment by him and had asked the court to file a case against him. However, the actress withdrew her plea later. Later, ED also contended before the Delhi High Court that Jacqueline was knowingly involved in the possession and use of the proceeds of the crime of Sukesh. The ED’s contention was made in an affidavit filed in response to Fernandez’s plea seeking quashing of an FIR against her in the money laundering case.
Meanwhile, Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, currently lodged in a Delhi jail, has reportedly gifted actress Jacqueline Fernandez a yacht named after her for her birthday. In a letter to Jacqueline, who is celebrating her birthday on Sunday, Sukesh revealed that the yacht, named “Lady Jacqueline,’ was the same one she selected back in 2021. Sukesh assured her that the yacht will be delivered this month, with all taxes paid, making it fully legitimate.
The conman also emphasised that no material gift—a jet, yacht, Birkin bag, or diamond—could bring her as much joy as helping others. To ensure her happiness, Sukesh mentioned deploying a full team to work with the Kerala government to fulfill these pledges.
