The teaser for Chhava, featuring Vicky Kaushal as the brave Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, is set to release today, August 19. The teaser was shown before Stree 2, and it has already sent fans into a frenzy. Ahead of the official launch, Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram to share the first poster from the much-awaited film. Chhaava has been directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films.
The poster has a dramatic and intense composition, viewed from a top-down perspective. At the centre is the brave Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, as seen from above, standing alone against a massive crowd of armed soldiers who surround him. His attire is traditional, a white angrakha, and he raises two swords, preparing for battle. The surrounding soldiers, dressed in period armour and headgear, wield swords and shields.
In the caption, Vicky wrote, “Unbowed. Unbroken. Unconquerable. The courage to defy an empire. #Chhaava Teaser Out In 1 Hour! The Warrior Roars… on 6th December 2024.”
The teaser, shown before Stree 2, features intense battle scenes with Vicky Kaushal in a strong and commanding role as the Maratha emperor. Though there might be comparisons to Ranveer Singh’s role in Bajirao Mastani, Vicky’s performance aims to be unique. In Chhava, he plays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, with Rashmika Mandanna as his wife, Yesubai Bhonsale. The film, which finished filming earlier this year, is set to release on December 6 and is already generating a lot of excitement.
Chhava is a historical drama that revolves around the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. In the film, Vicky Kaushal is set to portray the character of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of the Maratha empire’s founder. On the other hand, Rashmika Mandanna takes on the role of Yesubai Bhonsale in the film. The film also stars Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta in key roles. According to a report by Pinkvilla, actor Neil Bhoopalam has also been roped in to portray the character of a Mughal prince in the film.
