Jr NTR starrer Devara has become one of the most awaited films of the year. While fans are eagerly waiting for the movie, it has now been reported that Bobby Deol has also been roped in for the film. As per reports, Bobby Deol will also play a villain, like Saif Ali Khan. His role will reportedly be meaty in the film’s second part.
The Hindustan Times quoted a source as saying, “Yes, the team is in talks with Bobby Deol and discussions are in the final stage. Bobby will also play an antagonist in this movie. Saif Ali Khan will be the main antagonist in Devara Part 1 and Bobby Deol will enter Devara Part 1 towards the end of the film. In Devara Part 2, both Saif and Bobby will have meaty roles as antagonists.”
It also stars Janhvi Kapoor and marks her debut in South films. It is also her first-ever collaboration with Jr NTR. “Janhvi Kapoor will not have a very extensive role in Devara Part 1. Most of her sequences will be part of the second film. But it’s an exciting role for her,” the source added.
Devara is set against the coastal lands and is helmed by Koratala Siva. Saif Ali Khan will also play a key role in Devara. The film will also feature Ramya Krishna. Besides this, several reports claim that actress Chaitra Rai will be joining the star cast. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this as of now.
Just like RRR, this Telugu movie will reportedly have high-octane action sequences that are expected to blow away the minds of the audience. As per reports, Devara is being made on a huge budget. The makers are reportedly spending a whopping Rs 140 crore on its VFX. The rumour mill is rife that the makers are also spending 33 per cent of the movie’s original budget on special effects.
Devara also marks Jr NTR’s 30th film. Reportedly, the actor will be portraying both, father and son on screen in this film. In January this year, Jr NTR shared the first poster of the film in which he was seen standing on a boat in the middle of the sea. He kept an intense look on his face as he also sported a shirt with black pants.
On Thursday, trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his social media handles to announce that Devara will not hit theatres on September 27. The film was earlier supposed to be released on October 10, 2024.
