'Baba Siddique Is My Friend': When Shah Rukh Khan Opened Up On Late NCP Leader, Said He Met Him For 'Hugs'
Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and other Bollywood stars were a regular at Baba Siddique's Eid and Iftar parties,

Former Maharashtra Minister and Ajit Pawar-led NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai on Saturday evening. As per the preliminary information, three to four people fired two-three rounds of gunshots at the NCP leader outside his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui’s office near Colgate ground in Nirmal Nagar, Bandra (East). He was immediately taken to Lilavati Hospital, where he died shortly after arrival.

Apart from politics, Baba Siddique was also known for his close association with Bollywood – especially Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. During a light-hearted chat with the team of AIB, they cheekily asked Shah Rukh Khan if he ever worries about passing through Bandra, where Baba Siddiqui resided, fearing he might end up hugging him. The question was possibly a dig at the famous 2013 Iftar party where Baba Siddiqui orchestrated the moment that saw Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan hug, ending their long-standing feud. Baba Siddiqui, with his well-known warmth and ability to bring people together, sparked the unexpected reunion and patch-up that went down in Bollywood history.

During the chat, Shah Rukh Khan mentioned how Baba Siddique always held a special place in his life as a friend, particularly during the holy month of Ramzan and his iconic Eid parties. Shah Rukh Khan would make it a point to visit him during these times, as Baba Siddiqui’s warmth and hospitality brought people together in a way that made everyone feel included. Their bond extended beyond politics and stardom.

Shah Rukh Khan had jokingly said, “I have to tell you this, that Baba Siddique is my friend, and I regularly meet him for the hugs. I don’t want to be accosted or taken by surprise, so I plan it! I plan it on Eid. I am always there, and nights during Ramzan. I want to tell you that Baba Siddique’s hugs are the best when planned."

The investigation into Baba Siddique’s murder is ongoing, with more details expected to emerge in the coming days.
