Ankita Lokhande was visibly upset after her mother-in-law Ranjana Jain, Vicky Jain’s mother, asked her to not participate in shows that would ruin the family’s reputation. Ankita and Vicky had joined Bigg Boss 17 as one of the couple entries this year. While they started off on a happy note, things went south when they began fighting. To make things worse, Vicky’s mother made some controversial statements against Ankita in the show which labelled her as a toxic mother-in-law.
Vicky Jain’s family came under the scanner following the statements. In the Bigg Boss 17 grand finale, Ranjana was seen seated in the audience with Vicky when Salman addressed her. He asked her to make a few promises to Ankita before she leaves the show. While he was hoping that she would promise to change her ways, Ranjana instead roasted Ankita.
She asked her to promise to never participate in a show “jahan parivaar ki izzat mitti mein mil jaae (where you spoil the family’s name).” The comment left Ankita visibly upset. She told her mother-in-law, “I am a part of this industry mumma. I am proud of it.”
When Salman asked Ankita to make a few promises, Ankita apologised to Vicky’s mother for her fights with her husband on the show. She vowed to give Vicky immense love and to try to make his mother happy. She mentioned that since Vicky’s mother has not lived with them, she didn’t realize that a lot of their fights were in jest. She said, “Shayad aap humare saath kabhi rahe nahi hain (thus you are not familiar about how we live).”
Vicky’s mother then told Ankita that she would treat her with love and wanted to see her and Vicky have kids. Ankita then praised her mother-in-law, leaving Salman Khan in splits.
Ankita was one of the frontrunners for Bigg Boss 17 trophy. However, she had to settle as the third runner-up.
