Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are rumoured to tie the knot in the coming week. While the couple is yet to announce their wedding plans, there have been multiple reports claiming to have exclusive news about the wedding date. While the supposed wedding dates range between April 13 and April 17, a new report has now claimed that Alia and Ranbir are getting married on April 14. That’s not all, the report also claims that the couple has chosen to keep it a strictly private affair with only 40 to 45 people attending the ceremony.
It comes as no surprise that Karan Johar and Ayan Mukerji have reportedly been named on the wedding guest list. According to a Hindustan Times report, the wedding ceremony will take place on Thursday evening, April 14. The ceremony will take place a few hours after the Haldi ceremony. The report also adds that the Mehendi ceremony will take place on April 13.
“It’s an extremely low-key and intimate wedding. Only 45-50 people have been invited for the wedding ceremony which includes the couple’s family members and close friends like filmmakers Karan Johar and director Ayan Mukerji,” the source said. The insider added that a no-phone policy has been implemented for all during the wedding festivities.
Ranbir Kapoor ki Baraat:
Multiple reports have already revealed that the wedding will take place at Ranbir’s home Vaastu in Bandra. The HT report adds that a small baraat procession will head for the wedding venue at about two or three in the afternoon.
Alia Bhatt’s Wedding Lehenga:
It is reported that Alia has picked Sabyasachi for her wedding but the wedding outfit will feature a hint of Manish Malhotra as well. It is said that Alia has picked out a pink lehenga for the wedding while Manish is designing the dupatta for the outfit.
Krishna Raj Kapoor’s Bungalow Decks Up:
The residence of Ranbir’s grandmother Krishna Raj Kapoor has decked up with lights. Videos from the house has been shared by a paparazzo on Instagram, hinting that the wedding festivities are officially kicking off.
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Wedding Reception:
A report by Hindustan Times has claimed that Ranbir and Alia are hosting a wedding party on April 16, two days after their reported wedding. While the report claims only 80 to 100 people will be invited to the party, India Today’s source claims Ranbir’s exes Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone have got an invite for the reception. The grapevine points out that the actors have moved on from the past and ‘there is no question of being awkward.’
“In fact, Katrina and Alia are even working together in Farhan Akhtar’s next directorial venture, Jee Le Zara, which is written by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Katgi. Alia even reached out to Katrina during her wedding and gave her best wishes. Similarly, Ranbir and Ranveer Singh are friendly and they both respect each other’s work. So it won’t come as a surprise if all these couples make a friendly appearance at the reception in Mumbai,” the source claimed.
Vicky, who married Katrina in December last year, has worked with Ranbir and Alia. While he played Ranbir’s best friend in Sanju, he starred opposite Alia in Raazi. Alia shares a great bond with Ranveer as well. The actors have starred in Gully Boy and will be seen in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani next year. Ranveer was also seen doubling up as Alia’s cheerleader during the promotions of Gangubai Kathiawadi. It is to see if the couples would make their way to Ranbir and Alia’s wedding bash.
Bride and Groom-to-be Busy With Work:
Although there are hardly a few days left to the reported wedding, Ranbir and Alia are busy with their work commitments. On Sunday, Alia was spotted making her way to Karjat for a shoot. On the other hand, Pinkvilla reported that Ranbir is currently shooting for filmmaker Luv Ranjan’s next movie which also stars Shraddha Kapoor in the lead. With Ranbir away at work, Neetu Kapoor and Alia are handling all wedding preparations.
