Shekhar Suman and his son Adhyayan Suman are also part of the series. Shekhar Suman brings Zulfiqar Ahmed to life, a character of authority whose very demeanour exudes power and sophistication. Adhyayan Suman embodies Zorawar Ali Khan, a wealthy and arrogant nawab whose actions are guided solely by self-interest. Fardeen Khan is also in the series.

Coming back to Heeramandi, it is a series that is sure to redefine the world of web series for Indian and global audiences. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is creating the global phenomenon with Netflix taking the show globally. The first ever big-scale show Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar will not only create a boom on the global platform but will also give rise to a new dawn that shall be followed by the other filmmakers too.

In February last year, the makers shared a teaser which showcased Manisha Koirala looking stunning in a royal getup, followed by similar smiling glimpses of the rest of the cast.

The historical drama series transports audiences to a time when courtesans reigned as monarchs. Through the stories of courtesans and their clients, set against the turbulent backdrop of the Indian Independence struggle in the 1940s, the series investigates the cultural reality of the namesake area of Heera Mandi.
