It works as a panacea for not just one but many diseases. According to Dr Priyanka Singh, drumstick is commonly used in its regular form, but some individuals may not be aware of its medicinal properties. In Ayurveda, it is cited as a remedy for more than 300 diseases. Referred to as Sigru by Acharya Bhav Prasad, it is likened to an arrow that swiftly penetrates metals, simplifying the process of purification.
Its efficacy extends to facilitating the elimination of toxins through sweat and combating stomach worms. Rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, B2, B6, and B12, drumstick finds applications in various health conditions, effectively addressing numerous ailments. It proves beneficial in diabetes by significantly reducing sugar levels.
Decoction made from drumstick helps alleviate various unbearable pains, including joint pain, chronic pain, muscle pain, and bone pain. Its leaves, when crushed and cooked in mustard oil, can be administered topically to relieve joint discomfort. It is highly helpful in the fight against fat, obesity, and skin conditions. In addition to lowering blood pressure and cholesterol, it also works well for stomach disorders.
Research is currently being conducted to determine how effective it can be in treating cancer. It has a high calcium content, which is excellent for bones. Its leaves are just as beneficial for kidneys as Sanjeevani herb. This is especially advantageous for lactating mothers.
