Holi, one of the most revered Hindu festivals, will be celebrated nationwide with much happiness and enthusiasm on March 25. Meanwhile, Chhoti Holi, or the Holika Dahan, will be celebrated on March 24. Holika Dahan not only has religious but astrological implications as well. This is because it brings happiness to many people, but some should avoid witnessing Holika Dahan. An Astrologer Manohar Acharya named the people who should not take part in Holika Dahan. As per the astrologer, these people are newly married brides, pregnant women, parents with an only child, a newborn baby, and a woman and her mother-in-law.
1. Newly Married Women– It is considered inauspicious for the newly wedded bride to watch Holika Dahan or participate in it. As per popular beliefs, this can create hindrances in her aim to accomplish marital bliss.
2. Pregnant women– Pregnant women should also not take part in the Holika Dahan as it can harm the unborn child and also lead to physical problems for the mother.
3. A parent with a single child– Any person who is the parent to a single child should neither see Holika Dahan, nor worship Holika, as per the astrologer. Instead of the parent, an elder person should take part in the Holika Dahan. As per the beliefs, the place where Holika Dahan is performed gives the impression of a crematorium and they feel the presence of negative vibes there.
4. Newborn baby– A newborn baby should also be not brought to the site of the Holika Dahan as it may prove dangerous for him or her.
5. Woman and her mother-in-law– A woman and her mother-in-law should also refrain from watching the Holika Dahan because the Holika fire is witnessed as the burning body of a woman. As per popular beliefs, if the lady and her mother-in-law watch Holika Dahan together, their relationship might go through a rough patch.
