  1. Swami Vivekananda’s birth date on January 12, 1863, coincided with the Makar Sankranti festival.
  2. His pre-monastic name was Narendranath Datta.
  3. He founded two magazines Prabuddha Bharata in English and Udbodhan in Bengali.
