South Korean rapper Ch1tkey faked his death to promote his new song, a new report claimed. The musician confirmed he is alive in a new live stream. The rapper, who was reported to have passed away after allegedly falling off the roof while performing a social media challenge, faced flak for his social media stunt. However, the rapper slammed those criticising him by calling himself ‘so smart.’
He shared a video on his Instagram account on Wednesday to confirmed that he staged his death. According to Koreaboo, the rapper said, “I’m not just seeking attention. I tried to make a comeback with my album, but I ended up being so smart that I deceived even my family. So the police, reporters came to my house, and news reports came out.”
He added that when the police arrived at his home, his friend hid him. However, he was eventually caught when he stepped out to head to the convenience store. He then shared a cryptic message in the video. “God told me that I am good and Korean people are bad. So pretending to be moral while doing bad things online is wrong. What I’m doing is ‘what God wanted,’ according to what God told me,” he said.
He has now claimed that he will carry a chainsaw instead of gun with him everywhere he goes. “I’m planning to eat human flesh,” he said. The news of the South Korean rapper’s death earlier this week. His girlfriend had also penned a ‘tribute’ note for him.
Ch1tkey is not the first artist to fake his death this year. Earlier this year, Indian artist Poonam Pandey had also faked her death. On February 2 this year, her ‘death’ news was announced in a post shared on her official Instagram handle. However, a day later, the actress came out in a video statement and revealed that she was alive. She argued that the motive of her death news was to create awareness regarding cervical cancer.
