VELLORE: Yogathon, an Art of Living’s initiative, aiming at creating awareness about yoga and generating interest in its practice for a healthier living, will be organised to coincide with the World Health Day on April 7th, Saturday.While this entry-free event will be conducted in schools, parks, colleges, stadiums, prisons, rehabilitation centres, orphanages and clubs across the country and abroad, it will be held at Nathan Palace near Tollgate here, said organiser Yamuna Nageswaran.The event will be conducted in the morning from 6 to 7.30 and in the evening from 5 to 6.30. Participants can choose any one of the timings convenient to them. Yogathon will also be conducted in Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.The Yogathon Challenge will allow participants to challenge themselves to complete 54 sets (108 rounds) of Surya Namaskar and winners of this event will get the ‘Gold Certificate’ from the Art of Living (Vyakti Vikas Kendra, India), the host of this program.All the participants will be given a ‘Spirit of Yoga’ certificate. This certificate will also attest the number of rounds completed successfully by the participant.
