BHUBANESWAR: Preparations are in full swing for Xpressions, the annual festival of Xavier’s Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, slated to commence on November 11. With expenses for the event being pegged at Rs 25 lakh, the four-day event will feature a rock band competition, fashion show, quiz contest and business simulation competition.The event will be kickstarted with a Conclave, panel discussion on business topics. The panelists include Rita Soni, Nasscom CEO, and Harish Bijoor of Harish Bijoor Consultants Inc. While Inquizztive, the quiz contest slated to feature both students and working professionals has a prize money of Rs 1 lakh for the winner, Decibelz, the band contest, will witness six rock bands battling it out for the top slot. Helio, the business simulation competition, is purported to give the undergraduates a taste of the corporate world. Lucky Ali, the famed musician, will perform on November 14, last day of the event. The organisers are expecting over 10,000 footfalls, apart from around 300 outstation participants. The events will continue late into the night.
