BANGALORE: City-based software security firm NashWall Cyber Surakshaa has designed what it claims to be the world’s first virus-proofing software. The software is designed in the wake of increasing cases of cyber crime. “NashWall is not an anti-virus software. It cuts off viruses at entry points, instead of scanning the entire memory for infections. Once NashWall detects an infection, it alerts the user and prevents the infection,” explained Narendra Kumar, CEO and founder, NashWall Cyber Surakshaa. “The number of signatures has greatly increased. The market is largely ignorant when about the usage of anti-virus softwares. Users think that an anti-virus software would keep their computers safe, which is not true any more,” he said. Kumar said, “NashWall does not cure infections. As a common user, all we can do is keep doors locked. That is what the software does - keeps entry points sealed.”
