In the East Godavari district, monkey infestations are common. Monkeys in the forests, living near waterfalls under green trees, have started invading human habitats. They are frequently seen along roads in agency areas and even in urban residences, causing problems for the residents. People are particularly concerned about the potential for these monkeys to enter homes in search of food.
There have been instances where people have been injured by monkeys in various locations. In Kakinada, the number of injured monkeys has been rising. Recently, a monkey was found severely injured and struggling to breathe near the Mubarak Hotel. Despite the evident need for help, no one dared to approach the monkey out of fear of being bitten.
Dr Shiva from Aratlakota happened to be passing by and decided to help. He first approached the monkey cautiously, then applied antibiotic powder to its wound from a safe distance and cleaned it with a special liquid. He also administered a liquid similar to ORS to the monkey using an injection.
Within about 30 minutes, the monkey began to recover. Dr Shiva’s timely intervention and care brought the monkey back to health. Many have praised Dr Shiva for his recent efforts in helping animals, recognising him as a compassionate individual who awakens humanity through his dedication to caring for voiceless creatures. It is important to acknowledge and appreciate Dr Shiva and his service to the monkeys.
In another incident, a doctor in Hisar, Haryana achieved major success. For the first time in the state, a monkey was operated on for cataracts, after which the monkey regained his sight.
Recently, the ophthalmologists of Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, LUVAS (LUVAS), Hisar in Haryana have achieved a major success. This surgery was performed by LUVAS Vice Chancellor Prof. Vinod Kumar Verma.
