The Vigilance Commission has directed Jammu and Kashmir DGP to submit by August 23 a report on a complaint regarding abuse of official position by a DSP.

The Vigilance Commission has directed Jammu and Kashmir DGP to submit by August 23 a report on a complaint regarding abuse of official position by a DSP.

The complainant, Balbir Singh, had alleged that DSP Riyaz Ahmed Tantray had, by abusing his official position, created false evidence against him and in the process, indulged in corruption last year.

"The Vigilance Commission has issued orders asking DGP, J~~amp;amp;K to present the report involving complaint regarding abuse of official position by a police officer, through a Senior Officer to be deputed by him. The officer so deputed shall remain present in person before the Commission on the next date of hearing which is fixed on August 23 at Jammu," a Vigilance Commission spokesperson said.

The case was received by the Commission from the State Accountability Commission and the complaint was addressed to DGP, the spokesperson said.
