Velicham awards distribution

KOCHI: The awards instituted as part of the intense education programme- ‘Velicham’ aimed at improving the educational standards of Government and aided schools in Vypeen will be organised on Friday. Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan will inaugurate the function that will be held at Njarackal St Mary’s UP School. Union Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies K V Thomas will distribute the awards.

Students of 72 schools from classes one to ten are included in the project. The winners were selected on the basis of a public exam conducted on various subjects like General Knowledge and Science. Awards will also be given to the Best Schools, Management, PTA, Headmaster, Teachers and helpers. ENS
